How to add Taros to your Squarespace site
Squarespace has a built-in code injection feature. Here's how to use it to install Taros in under a minute.
Squarespace makes it easy to add custom scripts through their Code Injection feature. Here's how to get Taros running on your Squarespace site.
What you need
- A Taros account with a paid plan
- An AI assistant set up and trained in your Taros dashboard
- A Squarespace Business or Commerce plan (code injection requires Business or higher)
Step 1: Copy your embed code
In your Taros dashboard, go to your assistant's Widget Customizer and copy the embed code:
1Step 2: Open Code Injection
1. In your Squarespace dashboard, go to Settings
2. Click Advanced
3. Click Code Injection
Step 3: Paste the script
Paste your Taros embed code into the Footer field. This places the script at the bottom of the page body, which is exactly where it needs to be.
Do not paste it in the Header field — the widget needs the page to be fully loaded before it runs.
Click Save.
Test it
Open your site in an incognito window and verify the chat bubble appears. Send a test message to make sure everything is working.
Per-page installation
If you only want the widget on specific pages, Squarespace also lets you inject code per page:
1. Open the page in the editor
2. Click the gear icon for Page Settings
3. Go to the Advanced tab
4. Paste the embed code in the Page Header Code Injection field
This way you can add the widget to just your support or contact pages.
Don't forget: allowed domains
In your Taros dashboard, add your Squarespace domain to the allowed websites list. Include both your custom domain and your .squarespace.com URL if applicable.
